Booking a Same Day or Routine Appointment
Consultations at the surgery are by appointment only.
Appointments may be made by
- Telephoning us on 0121 612 2500 at 8.00am on the day you want to book an appointment
- Complete the Online Consultation Form. All requests are triaged and responded to within 48 hours.
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with. We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable health professional to help you.
Patients may see the doctor of their choice by appointment if the specific doctor is Patients requesting a same-day appointment for a problem that is considered urgent will be offered an appointment with the first available doctor.

On days where the demand for same-day appointments is high a considerable wait may be unavoidable.
If we have no available appointments, you will be directed to an alternative service.
Your appointment type
We may offer you a consultation:
- By phone
- Face to face at the surgery
- On a video call
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible. This often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.
Urgent Appointments
If you require an urgent appointment, please call the surgery at 8.00am. The reception team will ask you what you need help with.
This will help them decide how soon you need to be seen and help them choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
We will always try to see you when time allows. However, if this is not possible, our reception team with direct you to other NHS services available
Home Visits
Home visits should only be requested for those who are unable to come to the surgery because of serious illness and infirmity. They should be requested before 10.00am, if possible.
Whenever possible we prefer to see you at the surgery; if you do not feel well enough to sit in the waiting room, we can make alternative arrangements.
Cancelling or changing an appointments
If you cannot make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time. You can cancel or change your appointment by calling us on 0121 612 2500.
By sharing your mobile phone number with us when you book, you will be sent a reminder, allowing you to cancel via our new text service
If you arrive late for your appointment by 10 or more minutes, you may not be seen, and may need to re-book your appointment.
Online Consultation Form
If you need help with a non-urgent medical or admin request, you can now contact us online. This is an online system where you can submit your medical or administrative request to our practice online instead of queuing on the phone.

What to Do When we are closed
- When we are closed our answerphone message will let you know the number to call.
- Use NHS 111 online NHS 111 Online or call 111.
- If it’s a life-threatening emergency call 999.

When to go to A&E
A&E (accident and emergency) is for serious injuries and life-threatening emergencies. It's also known as the emergency department or casualty.
When to call 999
999 is for life-threatening emergencies like serious road traffic accidents, strokes and heart attacks.
Pharmacy First
Pharmacy First
As of 1st February, your local Pharmacy can support you with SEVEN COMMON ILLNESSES without needing a GP appointment. You can also access self-care for minor ailments. We advise you to contact the nearest pharmacy for these conditions, based on the assessment they will be able to prescribe medication if needed.
